Fair hay´vinz
A bay on the south-central coast of Crete, where Paul’s ship put in on his journey to Rome (Acts 27:8); it is still known by the same name in Greek. Weighing anchor here in the fall, Paul’s ship, against his advice, made a run for the safer harbor of Phoenix to the west, but was driven off course by a sudden northeast wind (Acts 27:9-15).
